Are your hands and feet are always cold?

Some people have cold hands and feet for no apparent reason.

In others, coldness may be caused from stress or anxiety. It's also can be a side effect of certain drugs, for example many migraine-fighting drugs can cause this.

However, if your toes and fingers temporarily turn white and cold, it may be caused  by Raynaud's disease, a common condition that slows down circulation to the extremities Severe cases of this disease can lead to fingertip ulcerations. Also, Raynaud's occasionally can signal a more serious disease such as lupus or scleroderma.

Treatment includes keeping your feet and hands warm, stopping smoking, and if necessary, taking blood-vessel-dilating ACE inhibitors or calcium-channel blockers.
